The Signal

We’ve been warned about a pre-election attack before. Could this be the signal that the terrorists have been waiting for?

Leading Iraqi Thug Snagged

Posted on 5 September 2004

This is great news

Izzat Ibrahim al-Duri, deputy commander of armed forces under Saddam Hussein, was captured Sunday near Tikrit by the Iraqi national guard and U.S. troops, the Iraqi Defense Ministry said.

It was important to nab this guy, because he was leading a large group of “insurgents/terrorists” responsible for many of the bombings in Iraq. According to this, a large number of these guys were killed or captured during the operation.

We’ll keep chipping away at these guys, and the stability situation will continue to improve.

UPDATE — Eh…maybe not.

Do your part…

I saw this somewhere else, but Sekimori jogged my memory. I think the idea of targeted donation like this rules. We donated several hundred toothbrushes to the military (yes, they were new…don’t be stupid.) I’m tempted to send something to these guys as well.
