Yau, Yau, Yau…
If you watch Survivor, you already know.
It really is all about Yau-man.
The spindly little mid-50′s guy has been the highlight of the show. He’s got to be one of the craftiest, most intuitive players ever. Brilliant call last night on deciding to use the idol. Earl all shaking his head “no, no NO”, Yau thinking to himself “yes yes YES”. Nice.
I’m still not convinced giving the truck to the “fickle-as-they-get” Dreamz (Andria Herd) was the smartest move, but if it gets him the million dollars, I’ll have been proven wrong.
A couple of things I think CBS could do to improve the game:
1. Allow the hidden idol to be played AFTER the votes have been read. This would introduce a lot more strategy to the whole proceeding.
2. Allow the immunity necklace to be transfered AFTER the votes have been cast. For the same reason as above.
The “castaways” have come up with some creative ways of using the idols once found, but it could be a lot better.
Terrific Episode
This season of “Lost” has been the best of the three in my opinion, and last night’s episode might have been the best of the year. We received the answers to several of our questions, many new puzzles were created, and we were left with a tremendous mini-cliffhanger.
So much is being revealed so fast, that I don’t know how they can keep this show going for another three years.
Romo muffs it…
Jericho is lame…
Out of the blue last night, Diane says to me: “I’m done with Jericho.”
I can only agree.
We’ve been watching it as a lead-in to Lost, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that it’s a pointless exercise. The characters are at best bland, at worst irritating. The premise had great potential, but they’ve completely wasted it. There’s no forward movement in the plot, and illogic abounds. Radioactive fallout on the way? Go into a salt-mine and dynamite the entrance. Yeah…real smart. You can’t get out and would-be rescuers have to dig through radioactive dust to get to you.
I could go on and on, but why waste more time on the topic? Suffice it to say I’m very disappointed in this series. VERY disappointed.
Survivor’s back!
Yes!
Survivor starts tonight!
YES!
Our friend Brian is watching only because of the “Race War” controversy.
Diane and I watch because we can’t help ourselves!
YES!
Getting you all ready…
Maybe it’s the cynic in me, but when I see Geena Davis in this, I immediately think of Hollywood doing all they can to get us mentally prepared (and accepting) for – THIS.
Scares me big time, frankly.
And while I’m on the topic of scary things, what is it with all the hotties being voted off of Survivor? The stumpy legged fish-monger keeps dodging the bullet, while the babes are eliminated one by one.
Oh and Gary Hogeboom? Totally believable lie about his NFL career, as he wasn’t really what most people would consider a serviceable quarterback.
Oh my…
This is very good news… very good indeed! Firefly is going to appear on the SciFi Channel starting July 22nd. Could this be a prelude to a full-on return of the series? Jeff Harrell seems to think it could happen.
I sure hope so. A lineup of Firefly and Battlestar Galactica on Friday night would seriously destroy any and all competition. Amongst geeks like me anyway.

Here’s a link to a short mp3 of the call in Spanish. Hilarious! Ay yi yi!!
