Wayfarers…

Via lonelysandwich :

After Wayfarers’ heyday in the 1950s and 1960s, sales declined. Though Wayfarers were worn in the 1980 movie The Blues Brothers, only 18,000 pairs were sold in 1981, and Wayfarers were on the verge of discontinuation.

RIP Evel

Posted on 30 November 2007

If you were a rambunctious boy growing up during the 70′s, Evel Knievel was one of your heroes. I remember we used to set up ramps and jump our bicycles imprudently over things. We imagined we were Evel. The guy was cool. He lived large, wrecked large, and carried a diamond cane full that doubled as a flask full of “Wild Turkey”.

The less said about that whole “Snake River” thing, the better.

He passed away today from natural causes, which seems surprising as he broke nearly every bone in his body during the course of his life. The guy seemed to wreck more than he succeeded, but in the end that was part of the charm.

So long, Evel.

Aquadots

Yes, we know. Thanks for the heads up
Dock

Through the wonders of the “Tubes of teh Intarwebs”, I must have recieved 20 emails (mostly from strangers) warning me about the recall. I guess people search for Aquadots and found the picture I posted a while ago.

Have no fear, we’ve tossed the dots. We kept the machine, though, in hopes that the company would issue a replacement product.

Live Forever

Degrey

Aubrey de Grey may be wrong but, evidence suggests, he’s not nuts. This is a no small assertion. De Grey argues that some people alive today will live in a robust and youthful fashion for 1,000 years. The Invicible Man, Washington Post

Visionary or snake-oil salesman? You’re going to have to decide for yourself. Check out De Grey’s entries on Wikipedia, as well as these stories:
