Check out this article in the NY Times…a Boeing 707 body being used for hijacking training? Incredible…

The French Connection

Posted on 13 March 2003

France, China and Syria all have a common reason for keeping American and British troops out of Iraq: the three nations may not want the world to discover that their nationals have been illicitly supplying Saddam Hussein with materials used in building long-range surface-to-surface missiles.

An interesting and downright damning article, by William Safire. You’ll need to register at NY Times to read it, but it’s worth your time (and free…)

The short story is this – Iraq has been working to import sophisticated chemicals for their ballistic (read- long range) missle program, using a front company in France, and shipping them through Syria.

And they were doing it as late as August of 2002.

Great news!

With the emotional push-pull of the buildup to war, it’s nice to be able to report some good news for a change, and this is better than good… it’s Grrrrreat!

Elizabeth Smart found alive
Missing teenager Elizabeth Smart, the subject of an intense police hunt since she was reported abducted from her bedroom last summer, was found alive Wednesday and reunited with her family, which never gave up hope she was still alive.

I’m totally thrilled…this is wonderful… :)

Hooters is ready to say it: ‘Fly me’
No longer do you have to go to a Hooters restaurant to see your favorite Hooters gal. Now she’s taking her tank-top talents to the sky.

Yes! :) I thought this deal was dead in the water, but now it looks like it’s going to happen. Hooters chairman Robert Brooks promises, ”We will offer a level of comfort and service unlike anything in the air today.”

Hubba hubba…

Bin Laden Tape

Tape: Bin Laden tells Iraqis to carry out suicide attacks on Americans
An audio tape purported to carry the voice of Osama bin Laden called on Iraqis to carry out suicide attacks against Americans and defend themselves against a U.S. attack.

I wonder how many Iraqis will ever even hear this tape since Saddam only allows one (state run) television channel.

The two finalists for the “Ground Zero Rebuilding” project have been announced. You can see them here. I wasn’t too sure about the lattice-work concept, but now the more I think about it, the better I like it.

National Geographic

National Geographic Reveals Swimsuit Issue
There are bare breasts, naked bottoms and a cover girl wearing three well-placed shells and a bit of sand, but this is no girlie magazine. It’s historical. It’s cultural. And it’s definitely geographic.

Looks like a “must-buy” to me…
