Topo Maps for iPad

This is a really cool app that allows you to explore USGS topographical maps. Pinch-n-zoom, place waypoints, and export to your computer – this is an excellent tool that will get a lot of work as I prepare for our June Long Trail hike.
Cost is $7.99 for the app, but you can download as many topos as you want for free. Only downside is that many trails don’t appear on the map – (although the Long Trail does.)

Day 3 dawned cold and dry. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 30′s. We had scheduled to meet up with Diane and Lauren at the Rte 9 parking lot at noon, so we needed to get up and get started by 8:30.
After packing our gear and saying our goodbyes to the other hikers, we hit the trail…
