Palin? (!)

Posted on 28 August 2008

Rumblings this morning are that McCain will select Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

I hope so. What a breath of fresh air this would be. I’ve been supportive of this idea since I heard her name floated 6 months or so ago. Young, attractive, mother of 5, pro-life, pro-gun, with an approval rating north of 80%. What’s not to like?

Anyone else would be more of the old, stodgy, politics as usual.

This is getting interesting.

Update – Not interested in Tom Ridge. Less interested in Meg Whitman, although she does have an edge as a political outsider.
Update2 – Everyone’s confirming…it’s Palin! Very cool.

Great pick. The more I read about her story the more I like.

Heh, I would vote for her over McCain if she ran alone, or any other candidate for that matter. I don’t think McCain could have made a better choice for a running mate.

Heh, you guys still happy about this choice? If she were any more incoherent, I’d think she was perennially drunk.

I assume you’re referring to the Couric interview, in particular. And yeah, that was pretty bad. Demoralizing for her supporters, and red-meat for her opponents. It’s pretty obvious that she has been cramming so hard that information overload took over. She tried to spit out 4 answers at once and it came out sounding like Miss South Carolina.

We could trade jabs over Joe Biden and his views on television during the Great Depression, but there’s no point now, I think. Obama will likely win, and the libs will get what they dream of – a smooth talking socialist in the white house.

The only thing that takes the edge off of it for me is that I really am not all that thrilled with McCain either.
