Dark Knight

Diane and I went to see “The Dark Knight” last night, and we both really enjoyed it. It’s very highly rated, and that rating is well deserved.

The first half of the movie was flawless. Heath Ledger was compelling, and Christian Bale was wonderful again (despite the distracting mole.) The only problem I had with the film was that it was overlong. When Joker was captured, the thing could’ve come to a graceful end right there and nobody would’ve complained. Instead they chose to take the film off on a much weaker direction – mostly the story of Two Face Harvey Dent. It’s a minor “niggle” and doesn’t mean that I think that the Dark Knight is a bad film.

I’m just saying that the second half was softer than the first.
