Superbowl Weekend

Wow, what a great game! Congratulations to the NY Giants. Ordinarily I can’t stand the team, but in this instance I found myself rooting hard for their success. The evil, cheating Patriots needed to be knocked off in humiliating fashion, and the Giants were the right time at the right time.

The game was 7-3 for a long time, spurring the son of one of our guests to remark “This game is boring.” It’s true that defensive struggles aren’t for everyone, but man did this game open up in the second half. Exciting play after exciting play, mauling sacks of Tom Brady, and that miracle toss by Manning to David Tyree (that he caught off his helmet.) We were screaming.

The rest of the weekend was fantastic as well. We had some college friends down and there were 10 of us in all. Lauren loved having new friends to play with. Many Belgian ales were consumed, movies watched, and Mentos rockets launched.
